Many Korean residents and tourists visited Nak Won House as their first stop. The famous 24-hour eatery has been serving Korean food for 34 years on Vermont Avenue and Olympic Boulevard. Nak Won was a popular Korean restaurant that served Korean classics such as suhllungtang and bibimbap.

Contrary to the family-friendly diner Cracker barrel, which serves affordable fare at all hours of the day and night to Koreans, it is deemed inferior. This was a great place to get a bowl of soup in the morning for both early risers as well as late-night revelers. Koreatown was home to Nak Won, the fairest Korean restaurant. Located next door, Hodori featured a 24hr operations and an extensive menu of Korean classics when it started in 1991. This caused a little bit of a rivalry.

Nakwon Menu:

Nak Won restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes, so it’s a good idea that you order from all the main categories. Ddukbokki and Korean fried chicken wing or pork bulgogi was featured on the menu.

Mandoo and onion pajun, for the occasion, offer in both large and little servings. A modest household would be able to get by with the larger servings. Toppings can only order in a huge size. The pig bulgogi came with rice, lettuce wraps, and a few banchan sides. We even had to eat one meal, so we still did have a lot.

a delicious dish of deep-fried chicken

It’s hard to go wrong ordering fried chicken from a Korean restaurant. It can prepare with any number of sauces, including just a dry rub. The sweet and sour sauce drizzled over the spicy Korean wings. It heated up as it cooked. The crisp skin was a great contrast to the softness of the 20-minute drive home. Korean fried chicken ticks all of our boxes.

Nakwon Bulgogi:

Spicy pork bulgogi, prepared in-house, was a standout dish. It was spicy and tangy, with plenty of meat. You can make mini lettuce wraps from the main meal that contains lettuce, rice, and a side dish of soybean paste and banchan. This was a nice touch that reminded me of Korean barbecue establishments.

There are also other dishes in the nakwon restaurant. All were excellent examples of the respective genres. Ddukbokki mildly spiced with a tomato-based marina that complimented the mandu’s chewy rice cakes. It wasn’t overpowered by the kimchi pajun, despite the fact that it was a bit larger than usual.
