    3 Types of Moisture Absorber Explained

    Moisture absorber helps to remove bad odours and protect the fabric from different kinds of damages. Moisture absorbers have multiple functions that can be used to remove the excess moisture in the house or cars. The lifespan of every product is an additional category that company evaluates by themselves. There are three different types of absorbers explained in the following:

    1) Silica Gel

     Silica gel is made from sodium silicate, and this is one type of moisture absorber. It has specific surface areas, which makes this silica gel a powerful desiccant. It acts as a drying agent. Its name might add some confusion mind because this is made up of silica, which is produced in a beaded or granular form. The process in which silica gel disappears moisture from the air is called adsorption. It means silica gel will attract moisture into the surface of its huge pores then it will start absorbing them.  

    Silica gel should be kept far from children. It is a poisonous material, and companies or manufacturers add a warning on the silica gel in the plastic container to ensure that no one will take this. Silica gel has strong adsorption quality when it is used at room temperature. It might not work when the water is more than 40 degrees Celsius. Silica gel is quite expensive, and this is not made for large kitchens or basements. It is completely house using the product or small areas. 

    2) Clay Absorbers

    Clay absorbers offer an alternative to silica gel-based on expenses. This is cheap than silica gel. This can be used at any place in the home where moisture becomes moulds. Some homes use clay bricks that do not get mouldy because of the moisture absorbent quality, which helps to remove the dampness of the mould growth. It is easily available in the market, and it comes in different sizes as well. This will be the best option for those who want to remove moisture at a low cost.

    Clay absorbers also have some disadvantages. The moisture-absorbing capacity of the clay is less than other types of moisture absorbers. Those areas that come under humid areas, in those places, clay absorbers, are not recommended by the manufacturer and researchers. Clay absorbers will take more time than other moisture absorbers, so time wastage is one of the factors as well.

    3) Calcium chloride

    The best moisture combatant is calcium chloride which is a mixture of chlorine and calcium. It has the strongest moisture-absorbent property, making it the best candidate for high humidity moisture absorption projects. If anyone uses this, then the goods will remain in dry condition during the whole trip. Most of the traveller use this to make their product and items moisture free. 

    In humid places like the kitchen, basements, cabinets, closets, auditorium and other places, calcium chloride is used to prevent moisture. Sometimes electric fans can also be used as the dehumidifying effect if this runs faster and widespread. If anyone places the over a bucket of calcium chloride, then the motion of air will allow the moisture to move in the whole area. Not only some just for travelling many housewives use this to make their kitchen clean from bad odour and moisture.
