3 Types Of Cloud Computing That You Must Know

The growth of cloud computing has not only made it popular across the globe but also caused several trends across all industries to move towards the cloud. Thai companies can now enjoy the services and benefits offered by cloud service providers globally. This is due to on-demand application delivery models and the adoption of cloud computing. Cloud computing can become quite confusing pretty quickly because of the multiple types of clouds available which can provide different capabilities. The cloud server Thailand is heavily automated, therefore, no manual intervention is needed.  Cloud computing is in three main types which are:

Hybrid cloud

It’s a combination of private and public cloud elements. It’s connected securely over the internet by a dedicated private channel or virtual private network (VPN).  You can either extend your computer network to the cloud to save on buying in additional permanent hardware or use the near-unlimited storage capacity of the public cloud for storage while data processing is happening on your premises.

A hybrid cloud makes cloud bursting possible as it offers solutions from the best of both options. If you are running out of computing capacity on-premise, for example, it can be supplied by the public cloud. This will increase compute capacity on demand while still utilizing the already paid-for on-premise resources, therefore, it’s cost-effective.

Public cloud

The central processing unit (CPU), networking, memory, and storage are the compute resources that make up the public cloud. You can rent these resources to build an IT infrastructure as they are hosted in one of the public cloud vendor’s fully managed data centers that are globally distributed. These basic compute resources are coupled with managed services like applications, security systems, and database servers. If you don’t want the hassle of setting up and managing the whole solution, you can rent the managed services. Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Amazon Web Services (AWS) are the main leading providers of this type of cloud. It’s as simple as using a web browser when accessing your resources in this type of cloud.

Public cloud benefits are; maintaining or buying the physical components that make up their public cloud IT solutions is not the customer’s responsibility. Secondly, they are cost-effective as you are charged on the pay-as-you-go model, therefore, you will pay only what you consume. Lastly, in line with standards such as FIPS, HIPAPA, and GDPR, financially backed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) guarantee security and they commit each vendor to a monthly uptime percentage.

Private cloud

It is used and owned by single private organizations and businesses. Using the businesses’ hardware, they have been physically located at the business’s data center. A third-party provider can also host the private cloud on their kit. These providers will only be able to offer a tiny percentage of the global services of a public cloud, even though they offer administrative services.

Private cloud benefits include; if the private cloud is being hosted in your own data center you can fully control the entire solution yourself. You can tailor your cloud computing approach to your internal processes and preferences since you have complete control over the infrastructure. Some compliance legislation and more stringent security insist on certain resources and types of data to be kept inside your security boundary. Therefore, a self-hosted private cloud will help to comply with this.

Platform as a service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a service (IaaS), and software as a service (SaaS) are among the different main types of cloud services that work together to solve different problems. Serverless computing is gaining momentum rapidly. Thailand is now enjoying the benefits offered by global cloud service providers.
